Medical Tourism Location Costa Rica

Costa Rica

Besides getting the medical services you need at Clínica Bíblica Hospital, you will have the chance to travel and get to know San José, Costa Rica; a country of exuberance, where nature is at its best thanks to the great biodiversity found here.

Costa Rica is located in the Southern Central America, north of the Ecuador, in a region known as neo-tropic. It has an extension of de 51100 Km2 (24% of which are protected areas), and limits to the North with Nicaragua, to the South with Panama, to the West with the Caribbean and to the East with the Pacific Ocean. It is divided in seven provinces: San José (capital city)(4959 km2), Alajuela (9752 km2), Heredia (2656 km2), Cartago (3124 km2), Puntarenas (11276 km2), Limón (9188 km2) and Guanacaste (10140 km2).

Climate
In Costa Rica, there are different types of weather as a result of the winds and the small size of the land, it also has a mountain range that crosses the country from Northeast to Southeast, reaching up to 3.820 meters over sea level (Cerro Chirripó). Because we are a tropical area, the difference in temperature is not very big, even though in the coast and highlands there is greater variation. The big amount of rainfall accentuates this difference, both at highlands and at sea level. For this reason, and to better understand our weather, six regions were established: a) Central Valley, b) North Pacific, c) Central Pacific; d) South Pacific, e) Caribbean and f) Northern Zone.

Arriving by Air
San José is served by most major international airlines, with direct departures originating in the most important cities around the world. The Costa Rica Tourism Bureau website offers updated information about airlines, flights and entry requirements for your convenience.
